Crafted Cadence, brought to you by Nick Northrup and Modist Brewing Co., is a combination open mic poetry night with featured performances by Tawiana Shambley and Douglas Kearney. Doors, bar, and sign up begin at 6:30, and poetry begins at 7:00. This event has a $5 cover and is 21+. A Black trans woman with disabilities, Taiwana Shambley is an abolitionist fiction writer and teaching artist from St. Paul’s North End neighborhood and based in Minneapolis. She writes, teaches and performs stories to empower marginalized youth in the Twin Cities. Douglas Kearney is an award-winning poet, performer, and librettist who teaches Creative Writing at the University of Minnesota.
